Scotland to Newcastle Ferry

St Abbs Head is a National Nature Reserve on the Berwickshire coast just past Pease Bay (top left). This craggy landscape was formed by a series of volcanic eruptions resulting in the interesting cliffs and rock stacks favoured by the seabirds. The red arrow (bottom right) shows colonies of razorbills and guillemots tucked into the rockface. The recent count at the visitor centre tells us there are 42900 breeding seabirds here!
